We work to deliver your donations where they can do the most good, with an emphasis on supporting your local community. Please tell your concierge if you have preferred charities.
We’ll pick up, scan, and email your donation receipts for tax purposes. We even keep them on file in case you need them again.
Schedule service visits for donation pick-ups at least 48 hours in advance (or add to any service order).

Get a service that normally requires 2 days notice on the next business day. Order by Noon the day prior.
Same Day: $25
Get a service that normally requires 2 days notice on the same business day. Order by Noon that day.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of items don't charities accept?
It varies by organization but in general, we can’t donate mattresses, TVs made before 2001, clothing or toys not in good condition, or upholstered furniture with stains, rips, or tears. Many organizations specify “Items must be sellable, not trash.”
What charities does Take It Away work with?
Take It Away takes many member donations to the Salvation Army, Goodwill, and Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia. Others by member request.
